This one Will Not Get away

Towing tip:
Have you ever tried to tow another boat or maybe just help pull someone off the super wet boat ramp? You get out your rope and tie one end to the boat or vehicle to be towed and the other end to your vehicle. In the process you tie a knot in the rope only to find out that you can't untie the knot after the tow. Well I have a tip for you. Use a Bowline Knot.

The parts of a rope are called end and standing part. All knots are made by combining bights, loops, or overhand knots in different ways.

How to tie the bowline knot

Make an overhand loop in the standing part. Bring the rope end up through the loop, around the standing part and down through the loop. Tighten the bowline by holding on to the bend just formed and pulling hard in the standing part.
