New ID card – how will we manage in the bank? – Applying a new loan
From March 1, a new ID card template will apply. New evidence is poorer by some information in the older version of this document. Let’s check what has changed and how it affects the settlement of matters in banks. Will we have difficulties applying for a loan or a personal account? We invite you to read.
If our current ID is still valid, there is no need to exchange it for a new one. We can use it until its expiry date. The new version of the document introduces several major changes. We can include them:
- no information on the color of the eyes of the document holder
- no information about the height of the document holder
- no scan of the document holder signature
- duplicate photo of the document holder
- information about Polish citizenship
- headings in English
- no registered address
It is this last issue that has aroused and still raises, many disputes and controversies among citizens. Unnecessarily. This is definitely a definite plus because with each subsequent change of the report we will not be forced to exchange proof for a new one.
However, questions arise: will we deal with a new document without a registered address if we deal with the matter in an office or institution? Will the lack of an address for banks prevent you from taking a loan or using another financial product?
New Procedures
There are three ways to deal with all matters at the bank without a check-in address on the ID. Usually, only one of them is enough. If the client is not very reliable for the bank, he will have to go through the next stage of verification of his personal data by the institution.
1. A written declaration of residence
The basic document confirming your current place of residence is your own written statement on the address of residence, submitted by the customer.
The authenticity of the information provided is to be confirmed by the signature of the person concerned. Providing the wrong address has legal consequences – the customer may be charged with fraud for which a fine or imprisonment may occur.
2. Bills paid
Banks have the right to require the customer to provide a prepaid bill. The invoice from the previous month will be a great proof of confirmation of the customer’s address of residence. This will only happen in some cases where the written statement seems too unreliable.
3. Ex officio certificate
The third stage of verification of the customer’s place of residence is a certificate from the office. In this case, the customer is obliged to pay a stamp duty in the amount of USD 17. This requirement can also cause unnecessary trouble and trouble for the client. This form of verifying the accuracy of data submitted by a person applying for the purchase of a financial product is to be the last resort.
As you can see, we don’t have to worry about having a hard time getting it done at the bank. The procedures outlined above do not seem to be complicated. Of course, they require additional time, write statements and possibly download the certificate from the office, but you should think positively.
Beginnings are usually difficult and we will certainly encounter some ambiguities. However, the new ID card will not be an obstacle in dealing with everyday matters. It should also be remembered that the old version of the document is still legal and we can use it until its expiration.
You can apply for a new ID card and obtain it at the nearest municipal office, which is convenient for many citizens. Until March 1, this could only be done at the office corresponding to our place of residence.
It is worth noting that the waiting time for its manufacture will be shorter, and thanks to many safeguards, it will be more difficult to counterfeit it.
The lack of a signature scan can eliminate cases of fraud based on stolen evidence. All the features of a new identity card are undoubtedly the pros themselves.
