Tips Research on NitoPro UNLIKE OTHER SOFT PLASTIC LURES - NitroPro is environmentally safe and responsible because it is fully degradable -leaving no harmful chemicals, no toxic residue and no long-lasting plastic bodies, which may harm fish and/or other wildlife. NitroPro... a truly responsible innovation for the "Future of Fishing" and our planet's natural resources'. NitroPro is a unique substance.., a new, naturally degradable, organic based polymer which provides the ultimate soft bait delivery system. Discover NitroPro... these environmentally safe and wildlife friendly soft baits, feature the performance and quality you demand, only better. IN THE PACKAGE: NitroPro Baits demonstrate excellent shelf life in physical properties and appearance, as well as scent-stability with a natural longer-lasting scent that does not diminish or fade like other soft PVC baits. DECOMPOSITION and DEGRADABILITY: In any microbially-active environment such as freshwater and saltwater, baits made with NitroPro are fully degradable, environmentally safe and wildlife friendly. As water activates tile organic resins by entering the micro-porous veins and cavities of this naturally degradable substance, it not only releases the strongest and longest-lasting flavor/scent trail, it also slowly dissolves the bait, leaving behind small non-hazardous particles. STAGES OF DECOMPOSITION: Data from a variety of environmental and controlled laboratory testing grades the decomposition rate of NitroPro Baits, from 1 to 5 years variable, and is further dependent upon the specific properties and characteristics of the environment (i.e. organisms, bacteria, oxygen, temperature, pH or saline levels, as well as placid, turbulent or tidal water movement, etc.) but is best described in the following 4 stages. Stage (1) - water activates the scent delivery system by entering the micro-porous organic substance, releasing the flavor/scent. This activity provides a 16 to 24 hour peak performance time-release period, and continues thereafter, as the microbially-active Water replaces the impregnated flavor/scent stimulants.
Stage (2) - presumes the NitroPro bait has been lost or deposited
in a natural aquatic environment. Thereafter the bait shape or body will
begin to form a visible film membrane or fuzzy coating on its exterior,
caused by the active micro-organisms attacking the substance. Decomposition
activity is throughout, and the visible, physical appearance and likeness
of the bait shape begins to distort and deteriorate to a non-recognizable
state. This visible transformation tends to discourage wildlife consumption
and can take place within days or weeks.
Stage (3) - the physical properties such as tensile strength and
elasticity breakdown, the porous body develops holes and visible pockets
throughout, as the veins and cavities continue to swell and open from internal
activity and decay. As decomposition continues, pieces and segments of
the body begin to fall off. At this stage, water flow, turbulence and tidal
movement accelerate the breaking up of the mass and further aid the degradation
process.
Stage (4) - the microbially-active water will complete the final
stage of decomposition, as the bait substance safely disperses, leaving
behind no measurable amount of harmful chemicals, no toxic residue, only
the knowledge of a safer more responsible usage of our planet's resources
and outdoor wildlife.
The scent delivery system and decomposition of baits produced with
NitroProTM have been evaluated under a variety of environmental and controlled
laboratory conditions which can occur within a range of microbially-active
environments, i.e. freshwater, saltwater, mineralized water, landfill,
etc.

DECOMPOSITION & DISSIPATION GRAPHS: (FTIR spectra were run on NitroPro Baits)
Plots of percent mass extracted vs. extraction time @ 16 hours, indicated
2.2 years to 100% decomposition, and @ 48 hours, indicated 7.4 years to
100% decomposition. When sufficient data points are measured that take
into account the factor of real life - where water flows by the bait and
prevents the localized saturation of water from the bait's own decomposition
residue.
