BFAR Conducts Fisheries Skills Training in Central Luzon

Central Luzon Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-3) conducted a training session on fishing skills such as boat measurement.

The seminar was attended by technicians from local government units and municipal agriculture officers from several municipalities in the region, according to a report by the Philippine News Agency.

The aim is to equip and guide participants in the proper registration of municipal fishing vessels, which is relevant in detecting and monitoring abnormal activities of fishing vessels, according to the report.

Law enforcement personnel “demonstrated the current method of determining the internal capacity of fishing vessels and emphasized the importance of understanding the rules and regulations governing fishing in municipal waters,” the PIA said. .

“Proper registration and management of data necessary for effective registration of motorized fishing vessels, as well as identification and familiarization of fishing gear were also discussed during the activity,” he said. he adds.

BFAR officials are committed to continue their training in capacity building and to strengthen their collaboration with local government and fishing partners.
