Warsaw, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will be offering a series of free fishing and shooting lessons in July and August at the Lost Valley Fish Hatchery in Warsaw. MDC experts and volunteers will teach basic skills, then help participants go fishing in the hatchery’s education pond or try target shooting with archery equipment or pellet guns.
Each class will feature one of the four lessons offered as part of the MDC program Nature discovery — Fishing program. Participants must take the first lesson of the first course to take the next three courses. After fishing, safety and the techniques of a shooting sport activity will be taught.
These courses are open to participants aged 7 and over. No fishing license is required during the catch-and-release fishing activity. Security measures related to COVID-19 will be respected. Registration is mandatory.
