New World is unique when it comes to building your character. Instead of having a class, building each character comes down to a combination of attributes, weapon mastery, and skills.
Amazon Games MMO, New world, has been making waves since its release in late September 2021. With over a million players logged in every day, the game has found a way to separate itself from the pack and continue to gain traction, despite some early bugs and achievements.
One of New World’s biggest distinguishing factors is its smooth, classless character generator, which relies on weapon mastery and attributes compared to pre-defined classes.
Does New World have classes?
In short, no, The New World has no lessons for players to choose when creating their character.
Instead, your adventurer will improve their attributes and weapon proficiency, and you can decide your build as you go, even easier thanks to the game’s respec feature.
Each weapon has two versions for players to choose from, as well as certain stats or attributes that are used to boost different weapons. This allows players to blend and evolve over time, rather than being locked into one sort of weapon or another.
Players under 20 can freely experiment with different weapon builds and stat assignments, due to the ability to reassign these stats for free until they reach level 20 or mastery of level 10 on a certain weapon. After that, it’s a good idea to choose the attributes that match the weapon you plan to use in the long run (i.e. Great Ax and Strength; Staff of Life and Focus. ).
The New World character creator allows a lot of freedom in the way you play the MMO.
Otherwise, there is also a lot of freedom in the other aspects of how you build your character. Some may prefer the serene nature of fishing in Aeternum, while others may want to improve their logging and mining stats so they can craft higher level weapons.
From factions to fishing, New World is a game that truly lets fans play their own way, which should prove to produce many interesting and unique characters throughout the lifespan of the MMO.
