From 1849, the maritime railroad facilitated the lifting of ships from the water to repair them and put them back in the water. This place is a must visit to learn all the living history of maritime Gloucester.

Schooner Adventure

After taking a history lesson at Maritime Gloucester, head to a National Historic Landmark. Schooner Adventure is the 95 year old Gloucester fishing schooner. The mission is to preserve the ship and sail Gloucester’s last dory fishing schooner. Find out how she got her name!
